Pinnawala Elephant Orphanage

Pinnawala elephant orphanage is located in pinnawala. In this orphanage people look after orphan baby elephants found in the wild. This was established in 1975 by the sri lankan government. in here authorities look after the orphan elephants by providing them foods and prevent them from health issues. This is a very popular with the local and foreign tourists. Because, this is one of biggest elephant orphanage in the world, and also in here we can see large number of  orphan elephants. In this orphanage authorities has provided elephants to free atmosphere to live.

Sri Dalada Maligawa ( ශ්‍රී දළදා මාළිගාව) - Templeof the tooth relic

Sri Dalada Maligawa is located in Kandy and it is one of historically and politically valuable Buddhist temple in Sri Lanka. Because, this holds the tooth relic of the lord Buddha. One of Indian prince named Dantha and his wife Hemamali smuggled the tooth relic from ancient city Kalinga and brought it to Sri Lanka and hand it over to Kirthi Sri Meghavanna, the king of Sri Lanka on the instruction of the Indian king Guhasiva. Since then here in Sri Lanka, to govern the country the king must hold the tooth relic.

Esala perahara of the dalada maligawa is the other most important thing has caught the eyes of the tourists.
